¿Cómo crear una VM de VMWare Server para instalar Microsoft Windows XP Professional en Ubuntu? - Gnome


Aplicaciones - Herramientas de Sistema - VMWare Server Console


Selecciona Local host y haz clic en el botón Connect

Selecciona 1. Microsoft Windows y en el menú despleglable de Versión: selecciona Windows XP Professional

En el recuadro Name puedes escribir lo que quieras, es un título para identificar la máquina virtual. Por defecto pone el nombre y versión del sistema operativo que has seleccionado, en este caso Windows XP Professional

En el recuadro Location indica la ruta en la cual quieres que se cree el archivo de la máquina virtual, por defecto utiliza el direcorio /var (ya que se lo indicamos en la instalación del VMWare)

Ahora nos pregunta acerca del tipo de de conexión de red a utilizar, selecciona Use bridged networking,

Selecciona el tamaño del disco Disk Size (GB), esto se hará de acuerdo al espacio vacío del que dispongas

Selecciona Allocate disk space now (asignar el espacio del disco ahora)

Selecciona Split disk into 2Gb files, (dividir el disco virtual en archivos de 2 GB), entre otras razones, porque algunos sistemas operativos no permiten utilizar particiones mayores a 2GB.

Nota: Esta opción no es necesaria con Linux, ni con Windows XP

¿Cómo instalar gFTP (cliente ftp gráfico)? - Gnome

Panel de Gnome - Sistema - Administración - Gestor de Paquetes Synaptic

Para realizar tareas Administrativas introduce la contraseña del root

Aparecerá la ventana Gestor de Paquetes Synaptic

Seleccionar en la barra de herramientas el botón Buscar

Escribe en el recuadro de búsqueda: gftp

Haz clic en el panel derecho de la ventana (botón derecho del ratón) sobre gftp y seleccionar la opción Marcar para instalar.

Al hacer esto el gestor de paquetes te informará que debes instalar otros paquetes, acepta también esta sugerencia.

Haz clic en el botón Aplicar de la barra de herramientas

Verás la ventana Resumen en la que se te informará de los cambios a realizar en el sistema, haz clic en el botón Aplicar

Ahora lo verás en el Panel de Gnome - Aplicaciones - Internet - gFTP

Visualizar procesos desde el terminal

Definiciones:
Un proceso (del latín processus) es un conjunto de actividades o eventos que se realizan o suceden con un determinado fin. Este término tiene significados diferentes según la rama de la ciencia o la técnica en que se utilice.

Concepto aplicado en informática a la ejecución de un conjunto de instrucciones entregadas a la CPU para el cumplimiento de una etapa específica señalada por los comandos de algún programa. Por ejemplo, dada una fórmula en una hoja de cálculo y establecidos los valores de sus variables, el proceso sería la ejecución de la fórmula para obtener un resultado.

Entonces, un proceso es cualquier instrucción o programa que se ejcuta en determinado momento nuestro sistema operativo (Linux)

Todo proceso está identificado en el OS con un número denominado PID o Identificador de Proceso (Process IDentifier).

Ejecutar procesos desde el terminal

Ejecutemos un proceso desde el terminal, en este caso la calculadora de gnome

Este proceso (la calculadora) se está ejecutando en primer plano y mientras no la cierres no puedes ejecutar nada en ese mismo terminal.

Para mostrarte el siguiente listado he tenido que abrir otro terminal y ejecutar ps -A. Busca en este listado el proceso 7838 ¿qué es?

Bien, ahora cerremos desde el entorno gráfico la calculadora.

Existe una forma de ejecutar procesos en segundo plano, de esta forma el terminal quedará libre para seguir trabajando mientras nuestro proceso corre en segundo plano

Para ejecutar un proceso en segundo plano basta con poner el símbolo & detrás del proceso en la línea de comandos. Se ejecutará, nos mostrará su PID y el terminal quedará libre para seguir trabajando. De hecho aprovechemos el mismo terminal para listar los procesos con el comando ps -A.

¿Cómo castellanizar Ubuntu? - Gnome

En el Panel de Gnome seleccionar

Sistema - Administración - Gestor de Paquetes Synaptic

Para realizar tareas Administrativas introduce la contraseña del root

Aparecerá la ventana Gestor de Paquetes Synaptic

Seleccionar en la barra de herramientas el botón Buscar

Escribe en el recuadro de búsqueda: language

En panel derecho de la ventana hacer clic (botón derecho del ratón) sobre language-pack-es, language-pack-es-base, language-support-es y seleccionar la opción Marcar para instalar.

Al hacer esto el gestor de paquetes te informará que debes instalar otros paquetes, Acepta también esta sugerencia.

Haz clic en el botón Aplicar de la barra de herramientas

Verás la ventana Resumen en la que se te informará de los cambios a realizar en el sistema, haz clic en el botón Aplicar.



Bien, ahora busquemos las manpages, es decir, las páginas del manual en español para Ubuntu.



Seleccionar en la barra de herramientas el botón Buscar

Escribe en el recuadro de búsqueda: manpages-es

En en panel derecho de la ventana hacer clic (botón derecho del ratón) sobre manpages-es y seleccionar la opción Marcar para instalar.

Si quieres instalar este paquete de servidores y componentes para probar tus diseñosweb, CMS's, etc en local...

Abre un terminal

Panel de Gnome - Aplicaciones - Accesorios - Terminal

Logeate como root

Teclea:

Código: Seleccionar todo
[color=darkred]tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.5.5a.tar.gz -C /opt[/color]


para iniciar los servidores/componentes teclea

Código: Seleccionar todo
[color=darkred]/opt/lampp/lampp start[/color]


Ahora lanza el navegador que más te guste y teclea en la dirección: localhost

Guarda tus páginas web en: /opt/lampp/htdocs

Antes de copiar vuestras páginas a /opt/lampp/htdocs debéis cambiar el propietario de la carpeta (en este punto es el root)

Aquí tenéis como hacerlo "pasito a pasito"
